Ark Survival Evolved’s Genesis Chapter Has Launched, With The Second Part Coming Next Winter
After quite a bit of delay, ARK Survival Evolved has finally pushed out the first chunk of its Genesis content. Genesis was originally announced last August, the first part meant to release in December. At the very end of January, Studio Wildcard finally admitted it was delaying it until February 25th for polishing and balancing. And that means it’s live now.
“Expanding the ARK storyline with all-new mission-based gameplay, ARK: Genesis leads Survivors through beautiful yet lethal new worlds filled with exotic creatures, craftable items, and weapons unlike anything seen before on the ARK! In the massive ARK: Genesis – Part 1 expansion, Survivors wake up within a virtual simulation accompanied by the strangely familiar ‘HLN-A’ companion. Together they must overcome the simulation’s rigorous tests and only by fighting, building, taming, and exploring this new world will Survivors uncover the secrets behind this forbidding place.”
The studio further talks up the new biomes (“fetid alien bogs, deep undersea trenches, frigid mountain peaks, even the unstable low-gravity surface of an alien moon”), new critters, and new tools and structures to build. It’s live now on PC and console for $34.99 – that’s for the whole season pass, which also includes part 2, though it’s not slated to launch until “winter 2020.”
